As a key member of their small and fast growing company, you will build and lead the development team. Responsible for development, scalability and expansion of both back and front end functionality of their website and online shopping experience, you will work closely with design, analytics, customer service, and marketing team members to develop and create better customer experiences.

This is not your regular 9 - 5 job, you will work within their collaborative, high- energy startup environment. In addition, periodicˇinternational travel to China will be part of your responsibilities as you spend time with and work with teams in Canada and China.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility will be to 'own' the technology infrastructure that serves customers and drives revenue for the company
• Provide overall technical guidance, leadership and insight
• Ensure website maintains uninterrupted operation
• In conjunction with UI team, provide continued improvement and developmentˇ on customer shopping experience. You will be the 'go to' person to make the impossible happen and to create easy to use, never before seen apparel shopping features.
• Create reporting tools, metrics and reporting tools that data mine website and transaction data to further enhance marketing and customer service experiences.
• Play a key role in technology innovation, working on diverse projects from augmented reality to iPad applications

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience and ability to create and manage high-performance, high-load eCommerce and shopping website applications
• Strong working ability in PHP.
• Strong working knowledge of CouchDB and building scalable databases
• Experience with Python an asset but not necessary
• Familiarity with basic SEO practices and web analytics a definite asset.
• Excited at the prospect of putting everything into your work.
