QA Analyst - Vancouver
Sept 14, 2008 - Our client is a well-established Financial Institution located in Vancouver that

They are currently seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic, a natural talent
for problem-solving, advanced communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for QA to fill a
challenging and rewarding intermediate QA role.
The Intermediate QA Analyst will be responsible for all activities in the QA lifecycle
from reviewing requirements and specifications, to developing and executing test
strategies, plans and cases to providing feedback and recommendations for product
improvement back into the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze business requirements, design specifications and other related documentation.
- Develop test strategies and test plans.
- Develop, execute and document results of test cases for various types of testing: functional,
system, regression, etc
- Follow all established departmental testing and documentation standards to ensure applications
are reliable, defect free and function as documented.
- Identify and analyze software defects and develop recommendations for product improvement.
- Work with business analysts/project managers, developers, and business subject-matter-experts
to ensure clarity of requirements
- Provide accurate and regular reports on testing status of assigned products
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field technical programs
- 3-5+ years of experience testing software applications
- QA experience in the financial services business sector
- Strong desire to break software in a creative, but controlled manner
- Experience developing automated test scripts (Rational Robot, SilkTest, etc)
- Experience with user acceptance, load, and performance testing
- Proven ability to work with business requirements and effectively translate them into test cases
- Comprehensive knowledge of software testing methodologies, industry best practices
and SDLC fundamentals
- Advanced communication skills; able to clearly communicate technical implications to both
technical and non-technical subject-matter-experts
- Ability to work independently, effectively manage multiple activities and complete tasks
within established timeframes
- Familiarity with programming, version control and software configuration management
would be considered an asset
