With more than 10,000 published freelance writers writing in four languages, over 350,000 pieces of original content, 24 million monthly unique visitors and quick profitable growth, they are Canada's largest content website and a top 100 site in the US.

Head of Content Strategy

This newly created senior position will own the content development strategy for the company and devise models and systems that identify and track the most lucrative content development opportunities.

To succeed in this role you must be highly analytical and process driven; you must be able to demonstrate your ability to systematically analyze data, identify patterns and develop and communicate scalable, repeatable solutions.

You should also have an entrepreneurial mindset; you should be able to demonstrate a natural aptitude for identifying and aligning your work to available business opportunities.

Responsibilites

• Build scalable models and systems that:
• Analyze user search data and advertising price data to identify the most profitable/highest revenue search phrases
• Create systems that automatically produce topic recommendations for writers based on those search phrases
• Track and monitor the production and profitability of those topic recommendations.
• Define and refine automated, algorithm-based and manual evaluation methods
• Create and own a ‘content framework’ for contributing authors
• Grow and lead a scalable multi-lingual team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of increasing responsibility with project and team leadership
• Numbers-driven; Demonstrable quantitative and analytical skills
• Must have professional experience in online content and be very familiar with contemporary web technologies
• Knowledge and experience with search engine optimization (SEO) practices a definite asset
• Knowledge and experience with Google Adwords, Microsoft Advertising Network and others a definite asset.
• Bachelor's degree or higher. Mathematics, Computer Science or other degrees enabling advanced approaches to data analysis preferred
• Independent, entrepreneurial mindset - thrives in a start-up environment
• Native English speaker
• Lives in or is willing to relocate to Vancouver, Canada. Canadian Citizen / Permanent Resident preferred
