Java Developer, Telecom - Calgary

Our client is a fast growing international company delivering mission critical products and business solutions to Tier 1 telecom and service provider clients around the world.

They are currently looking for a skilled Intermediate Java Developer to join their team. This position will configure and customize the company's enterprise software for its clients and therefore along with coding, they will be expected to communicate with customers to ensure that expectations are met.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate your proficiency with Java J2EE development, perform technical business analysis and create implementation documentation as well as your ability to clearly and professionally communicate with customers.

The successful candidate should have experience in one or more of the following: application software implementation, telecom or IT networks, experience with large OSS systems.

Responsibilities

• Write code according to functional design
• Support existing code
• Develop feature requests
• Fix bugs
• Perform technical business analyses
• Create/update implementation documents
• Provide support for implementation projects
• Participate in requirements gathering
• Participate in design and implementation reviews
• Lead Development groups
• Communicate with customers to ensure that expectations are met

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field
• 2–4 years experience in software development with
• Java EE/SE
• PL/SQL (Oracle)
• XML Technologies
• C++
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• the ability to travel extensively for varying periods of time
• experience in one or more of the following:
• application software implementation,
• telecom or IT networks,
• large OSS systems
