Business Analyst, Telecom - Calgary

Oct 13, 2010 - Our client is a fast growing international company delivering mission critical products and business solutions to leading telecom and service provider clients around the world.

They are currently looking for a talented Business Analyst to join their team. As the lead user-facing resource within the Professional Services organization the Business Analyst works directly with customers to identify project and product needs. The Business Analyst assists with the project planning team by providing information and analysis on the requirements, resources, training, testing and rollout of products and services as well as providing the supporting user documentation.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate your ability to lead the requirements gathering and documentation effort as well as your ability to interact professionally with customers at all levels of the customer’s organization, including system users, managers, and senior executives

Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements and produce documentation related to:
    • Business processes, mechanical work flows and points of system integration
    • Network devices and other components of physical inventory
    • Circuits and other components of logical inventory
    • Service orders, work orders, and other business documents.
    • Mapping of source data for data migration
    • Template and report specifications
  • Perform gap analyses between requirements and functionality
  • Lead User Acceptance and other testing activities
  • Assist in training delivery and documentation
  • Review and assess customer issues and change requests
  • Perform product demonstrations as necessary

Requirements:

  • B.A., B.S., or higher
  • 5 years experience with enterprise-level software technical implementation
  • Networking or telecommunications experience
  • Experience with BSS/OSS applications
  • Knowledge of System Integration methodologies
  • Knowledge of Data Migration methodologies
  • Experience with project management methodology and tools
  • Ability to gather and understand customer requirements
  • Good written and oral communications skills

This role requires the ability to travel extensively for varying periods of time

The candidate should have experience in one of the following: application software implementation, telecom or IT networks, experience with large OSS systems.
